My name is Mark Clayton president of Positive Black Images Apparel, and it has been my dream to start a clothing brand for years. However, I wanted my brand to be based on the positive promotion of black culture. Two years ago, while watching the Chicago local news with my children we counted 27 negative image portrayals of the black community, in a one-hour newscast. While every community has its challenges with crime, poverty and education why did we see 27 negative black images and not even 1 positive black image. I asked my children what their thoughts were, and they clearly stated we see positive black images every day. I agreed and my mission started to promote positive black images through apparel.  

Positive Black Images Apparel is not just another clothing brand looking to sell nice clothing. We are a holistic black clothing brand that utilizes a portion of its profits to invest back into the black community locally and nationally to improve the community.

Now the question is how will we meet our vision?

Step 1: We will continue to design high quality apparel and offer them to our customers at affordable prices.

Step 2: We will leverage 20% of all profits to complete our company vision.

Step 3: We will provide scholarships to local Chicagoland students.
